# Terms of service

These terms cover your use of this website and the network services Rift uses. By using them you agree to these terms. The Rift software has its own license, described below.

## The software

The Rift software comes with its own license, which governs your use of the code. These terms govern the services we operate.

## Your files

Your files are yours. We claim no rights in them.

Your files are encrypted with keys we do not hold. We cannot read them, recover them or reset your keys. If you lose your keys, you lose access to your files, and we cannot restore it.

## Acceptable use

Do not use Rift to break the law, to store or share material you have no right to, or to attack or overload the network services.

You are responsible for what your agents do with Rift.

We may suspend access to the network services for anyone who violates these terms.

## Warranty and liability

Rift and the services are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 100 US dollars if you paid nothing.
